Korea is the land of history and culture blooming in natural atmosphere. In one sentence kimchi, hanbok, rice cake, lunar New Year, Taekwondo all together is Korea. Life in Korea has everything you need for YOUR life. South Korea is a country of rugged and unsurpassed beauty, covered with mountains, surrounded by seas. Here people are some of the warmest and most generous on earth. Korean culture is ancient, refined, and filled with vitality. It's the country where, Cars are left untended and running, house doors unlocked, and goods out in the open. For a westerner, the way Koreans trust one another seems at first naive, almost childlike. Soon one realizes this is the way things should be.

Working and staying in South Korea will change your life indeed. But how it does it depends largely on how you begin. There are Three keys to get a joyful and stressless life. First to be accustomed with Korean food (according to your preference), Second Learn some useful Korean words, so when you go out you never face any problem. And third understand Korean culture and manners. Because there is a Korean word "Donbang yeichiguk" it means eastern land of manners. So life in Korea sometimes is easy going and sometimes it's a big challenge for outsiders, who came from a different culture and lifestyle.

1.1 Korea government rule regarding work of spouses

1.2 What all the jobs spouses can get in Korea

1.3 Pros and cons of working in Korea

1.4 Additional Information.

This is most important factor now a day for the Indians, who came to Korea with their spouses. Because most of the Indian spouses are highly educated and have previous experience like their husband. But as they come in the dependent visa (F3), Korea government doesnj? give them work permission. There are many kinds of job, which spouses can do. But as English teaching job is more demanding in Korea, so everyone is trying for that.

1.1 Korea government rule regarding work of spouses

As per the Korean government rule depend visa holder cannot work here in Korea as a full timer. As per Korean government rule F3 visa holder cannot work as a part timer also. But in the rule there is one provision that, if someone having F3 visa, and wants to work as a part timer, then they have to take permission for Local or district immigration office. There are some documents needed to apply for the permission. Those are:

1) Travel document, such as your passport.
2) Your alien registration card.
3) Application form, most of which could be down loaded from the Internet.
4) Application fees (60,000 won).
5) Other document that might be required additionally depending on the Visa status.
6) A letter of consent from a former workplace.
7) Resume
8) A certificate of degree and qualification.
9) A letter of recommendation of a minister concerned, or other materials verifying the need for the employment.
10) A certificate of employment. If your application is accepted, the immigration officer will stamp your Passport and record the amendments on the back of your Alien card.
One can find details in this web site.

1.2 What all the jobs spouses can get in Korea

Spouses can get job in Korea, but that depends upon their Qualification. If spouses are in IT field, as there are many, and if they have minimum 3 years Of experience, they can apply for E7 visa, like their husbands. And one more provision is here in Korea that is, working as a teacher in Korea. Not like English teacher. Because to work as a English teacher, one has to get E2 visa, which as per nationality, Indians are not allowed. But an Indian spouse can work as a teacher in international school. They have such a provision, that we Indian spouses can work there legally. Now there are some Indian souses are working there as a Teacher. But as per the required qualification, applicant must have Masters Degree or B.Ed certificate. And if the spouses are interested of doing job they can find job in many job sites In Korea, which are in English. In those web sites they can find that some companies require F3 visa holder, for their overseas marketing division. In this site one can find different International schools in Korea.

Also Spouses can find some job like phone teaching in Korea. This is a way one can work from home by phone. There are some concerns, which are dealing with this kind of job. They will provide Phone, books. And they will only pay your phone bill and they will give you salary. There teaching is little different. They will give you 10 students or more. You have to teach each student for 10 minutes everyday. Like if you teach one student 20 times for 10 minutes they will pay you (60,000 won). And they have many other provisions also. One can find this kind of job in different job sites. But for this kind of teaching one should speak English in American Accent. If someone is having Indian accent, while speaking English they cannot get this job.

1.3 Additional Information.

There some web sites, which are in Korean and English both, from their one can learn Korean basic, which are necessary, while working in Korea. One can get help from this web site.

1.4 Pros and cons of working in Korea

There are many opportunities are in Korea. They only thing is that we have find that. So keep on trying job from many job sites. So There are some websites like,

1) www.highrise.kr/school
2) www.hotjobkorea.com
3) www.jobskorea.co.kr
4) www.englishspectrum.com
5) www.worknplay.co.kr

So these are the websites you can search the jobs. Choose the job and call them. As we have given our consent to the government, to give Indians E2 visa. May be in near future we can also get opportunity to teach English in Korea as a full time teacher. May be that time we have to fulfill some requirement here in Korea to Teach English. Like we have to produce TESOL certificate (Teaching English to speakers of other language) that is also known as TEFL.
You can find about this courses in this website. Indians can do this course. One can do this as a distance-learning course through Internet.
